Signature Safaris
Above and Beyond
Driven by our wanderlust, we pull out all the stops. After roaming Africa’s wilds for 20 years, Piper has gained vast logistical knowledge and solid partnerships access the continent. Our Signature safaris offer up to 5 locations; exclusive experiences, charter flights, luxury accommodations, private concessions for off road and night game drives, on foot photographic experiences, and may even cross boarders. These safaris take a lot of planning and coordination, which is why they are labeled our Signature Safaris.
Crossing Boarders
We don’t just stop at single country safaris when we plan these unique safaris. As in our Signature Primate Safari we focused on the best primate experience where you not only trek with the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda, but also photograph the exotic Geladas monkeys with the red heart and the Hamadryas baboons found only in Ethiopia.
Less vehicles and tourist; higher quality photographs
Private concessions and reserves offer more exclusivity. Most privately managed reserves have only a few small luxury camps. This means there are a lot less vehicles and you won’t have to vie for a position at a great siting, resulting in higher quality photographic opportunities. In these private reserves you are granted the privilege to drive off road for a better position, with respect to a safe distance to the wildlife. Many offer the unique experience of night photography game drives. In some cases, we can arrange a complete exclusive experience just for our guest.
Charter flights, helicopters, private house boats, and luxury camps
We don’t let distance stop us; we hire a private charter to get us there. We don’t plan our Signature Safaris around the easiest driving logistics, but by the experience. Location is the most important in a photographic safari, but staying in beautiful African luxury camps is all part of the over all safari experience.
We love renting an exclusive houseboat when on the Chobe River that runs through Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe; this gives us more freedom to be on the river earlier in the morning, later in the evening, and away from the crowds near the tourist lodges.
Ariel photography from a helicopter with the doors off is not only trilling and exhilarating, but it stands out!
