I am very excited to be announcing my first project in Africa.
Extremely Limited, Leather Hand Beaded, in Africa, Canvas Prints
Proceeds to help Tribes
The tribes throughout the African continent have greatly enriched my life. It is such a privilege for me to be able to travel to these remote areas, share incredible experiences with them, share my passion with the world and take you along on this creative journey that I wanted to find a small way to thank you.
In July I returned to Kenya with two copies of 7 of my images, printed on canvas; both wildlife and tribes. I am working with a local Samburu woman who is hand beading a leather border around each of the signed canvas prints. The aim of the project is to offer you something more than just a print, but a piece of art created in Africa. These extremely limited prints are being use to raise money to help some of the tribal villages in the remote area’s of Northern Kenya. It is my hope, with your generosity, that together we can brighten the lives of those who live with so little, yet add so much beauty to our world.
Please use this link to view the 7 prints and learn how you can either purchase one of the these limited prints, or donate to be part of a raffle to win on of the 7 prints.
When we visit the tribes on my tours, we always bring a small gift of about $150.00 in food. The look of gratitude on these women’s faces goes straight to the heart. I will be taking a journey all the way up to the Ethiopian boarder this November. In wishing I could bring 3-5 times this amount, I came up with the idea of the Generosity Campaign and reaching out to all of you.
Most tribes still live in remote harsh regions. Even a small donation of only $10.00 can make a huge difference in their daily struggle to feed their families. My goal is to bring a minimum of $500.00 – $8,00.00 in food to the Turkana, Pokot, Rendille, El Molo, Pokot, Dassanech and Samburu villages that I will visit in November. I believe if we all do a little, together we can make a huge positive impact.
Awesome idea ! Good for you! Let us know how you do with raising money.. So proud of you!
Thank you Kitty, I will definitely keep everyone informed with how the fund raising is going. Even a small donation of $10.00 can go very far in purchasing food for these remote villages.
Awesome for you to do that. I have been working on some of my contacts to find ways to help also.
All the best,
Nicki
Thanks Nikci. I know you really enjoyed the tribes in the North and understand their harsh lives. A small donation will go a long ways!!
