Picture yourself in Africa, surrounded by exotic wildlife, enveloped in a profound sense of serenity far from the constant hum of modern life and the crowds typical of most national reserves across the continent.
That was my vision for the “Legacy Safari.” A time remissness of my beginning days. I could not be more thrilled by its success.

“This was our first photo safari in Africa and we are so thankful we went with Piper Mackay. Her passion for wildlife photography and her professional expertise is the driving force for providing her clients with the very best, most amazing experience possible. Being in the conservancies was fantastic with less crowds (at times only us) and trucks. We came home with fantastic photos and even more, a newfound love for Kenya and traveling to Africa. We are already planning our next trips with Piper to Kenya and Botswana. “

Focusing on an image’s outcome is one of the secrets to achieving successful fine art wildlife images, as you will see on this page. It starts with logistical planning.
I picked private locations with iconic species and unique ecosystems that could provide special access and freedom. Being low at eye level with your subjects creates a more profound perspective than shooting down on an animal from a typical safari vehicle, to say nothing of the personal thrill of being eye-to-eye with iconic predators.

Private conservancies offer a more exclusive and intimate safari experience with minimal occupancy and low vehicle density. This allows for deeper, more meaningful encounters in the breathtaking wilderness, fostering a spiritual connection to nature. Unlike crowded national parks where noisy vehicles jostle for position, these conservancies provide a serene and unspoiled escape.

A glimpse behind the scenes

When your guide is as passionate about photography as you are, you know it will be a great safari. Jona capturing the moment with his Iphone!

These images were from our first location only. I am thrilled with the high percentage of quality images captured. I had a quick turnaround and I am currently in the Himalayas, but I hope to edit through our other two locations shortly.
